If you are listening to someone, and you have something to say in the middle of it, or right after it, then by definition you were not listening. Your ego was judging what you were listening to by the ideas and thoughts that it clings to and as such no real understanding of it followed in your mind. Your ego got the best of you.
Do not let yourself fall victim to your ego. Be aware of it.
Listening is very simple. You don’t have to speak. You don’t have to talk. You don’t h…ave to interject. You don’t have to do anything, but simply observe the thoughts of another through their words. Observation without judgement. Observation without apriori knowledge. Observation when the mind is silent and dark, listening to another.
There is no such thing as a dissenting thought. Dissent is a meaningless term. It’s something people hide behind. When investigating something together, there is no dissent. There is only pure observation and observation is effortless, whereas dissent requires effort on the part of the ego.
